Shot from the Hip

I brought my camera with me on a recent walk. I was a little shy about stopping to photograph, so I kept my camera strap across my body and the lens at my hip. I just clicked away as I walked. I am pleased with the results, although they’re not at all what I expected to get. I’m not sure what I did expect.

This stonewall reminds me of Virginia.

Flamingos!

I did look through the view finder to compose this last image.

  2. i remember reading that tip on a photography site once upon a time – i’ve tried it a few times when i’ve been a little self conscious about whipping out my camera at a public event. gives you a new perspective on things!
